Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your first Dorn Method session.
The Dorn Method and its exercise techniques are considered very safe, but there are situations where it is appropriate to consult your GP. You should always consult a healthcare professional to discuss whether Dorn therapy or any exercise techniques are suitable for your health situation.

If in doubt, always consult your GP or healthcare professional before booking.
The Dorn Method is a distinctive, gentle approach to joint and spinal alignment. It works without force, with the client actively involved throughout the treatment. By using simple movements — such as swinging the arms, legs, or turning the head — the body helps guide itself back towards its natural alignment.
Corrections are applied with light, precise pressure and always in harmony with the body's movement, making the process feel calm, controlled, and supportive.
In comparison, chiropractic treatment often uses quick, precise movements to adjust the joints. These are short, controlled pushes that help bring the spine back into alignment, sometimes with a small amount of pressure applied more directly.
While both approaches aim to improve alignment and function, the Dorn Method is especially known for its gentle, cooperative, and non-forceful nature.
It is better to perform these exercises more frequently — ideally daily, for just 2 minutes a day — than to do them too intensively in one session. Please consult your therapist for guidance tailored to your situation.
The exercises require no special equipment, clothing or venue. They can be performed anywhere, at any time. If you wish to perform a complete body alignment on a weekly basis, simply follow the techniques in order. If you have a specific problem such as neck pain, you can choose just the relevant exercise from the toolbox.
While the Dorn Method can be very beneficial for a wide range of individuals who experience back or joint pain or postural problems, it is especially appealing to those looking for a gentle, non-invasive approach. It avoids the high-velocity, low-amplitude thrusts used in chiropractic adjustments — which some might find less comfortable.
The Dorn Method also encourages self-correction through exercises, so you may find you need fewer actual therapy sessions compared to other approaches, where maintenance adjustments are often recommended indefinitely.
Many people who have tried osteopathy or chiropractic without significant relief have found great benefit through the Dorn Method — as can be seen from the large number of enthusiastic reviews in the testimonials section.
